Starts her new job? Little post.
Some band coming to town in August? BEYOND excited.
We approve of her planned attendance at the Willie Nelson concert. Our tickets sit safely on the microwave.

When I returned to Douglas and Main after another disappearance I promised, to myself, that I would get caught up on reading the blogs (my Google Reader stops counting at 1000+ and it was pegged there) and not go past the first of the year for blog posts. I lied.
I have a few links that were sitting around gathering dusts and I couldn’t just, you know, delete them. So for the next few posts I bring you a few of your blogging thoughts that I liked but did not get to before 2010 began.
As with all Douglas and Main posts you can read them or not read them. Just be sure my check arrives on time.

Linnic uses blabberize.com in her classroom. Once you know what Blabberize is you will know she is an Über kewl teacher.
I believe that application will revolutionize tumblr. Or at least become the center of all its posts for a few minutes.

Patsy’s adventures are always well written and the pictures add a nice Dou Ban sauce to the mix.
This week’s treat is her attendance at a Diamond W Wranglers concert.
Earlier this year she went backstage at Wicked.

The Dead Can’t Dance, Rod’s feature length zombie flick, has finished principal photography and is now in the process of finishing touches. Here is a recap of the film’s life during 2009.
Now the good news: SXSW Film Conference and Film Festival is afflicted with dumbassitis. So the world premiere will likely be here.

Numana Inc., in partnership with the Salvation Army, is the local group behind the Million Meals for Haiti events this weekend and on February 5-7.
They also have a blog. Although it hasn’t been updated in a while (listen to me talk) it does have some interesting posts about the group’s work and other groups efforts to feed the hungry of the world.

Tinycandi wants you to know that she is an ISTP and explains what that means.
Full disclosure: ENFP. Heavy on the N and F. Somewhat wishy-washy on the E and P.

This weekend and on February 5-7 you are invited to help package food for Haiti. They are looking to pack 1 million meals each weekend. They will take money or muscle or both if you are so inclined.
Deborah has a description of how the process works and what role you can play.
A group of 12-14 can reserve a table and package together for a couple of hours. That’s what, half the staff of Verb[ICT]? Or Naked City Magazine?
If any bloggers want to share in the fun together, email me and we’ll claim a table. The tumblr bloggers alone could staff half the event.
Full disclosure: The CEO and souse chef of Douglas and Main is also a graduate research assistant at Wichita State and works for Dr. Ballard-Reisch. No grades were raised or chocolate truffles exchanged to have this message posted.

Lots of thoughts (and actions) among Wichita blogs concerning the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti.
Shea encouraged [pushed] and cajoled [demanded] everyone she could to help Ross and Jami connect with Alex, the boy they are in the process of adopting. Start here and follow the posts from there to relive the drama. It includes CNN coverage and lots of kind people and It ends happily for them.
For those still in Haiti it’s not so good. RedSwann has a link to lots of BRESMA orphanage stories. At KPTS Jess Huxman has a link to a number of resources dealing with the situation and information about the “Hope for Haiti” telethon of Friday night.
Local avenues of help:
Hopsitals for Hope is looking for contributions to their “Clinic-in-a-Can” program.

B-98 kinda, sorta loses half their morning hosts.
They plan to replace him, if he really needs to be replaced, with an American Idol style competition.
Because that method always chooses the best possible candidate.
