Todd doesn’t roll that way

August 29th, 2008

Do you roll your blogroll? Todd does not.
I do not either. The whole point of this blog is to connect you to all the creamy Wichita bloggery you can read.

Internecine Blog Warfare

August 28th, 2008

Dan sees good things.
Carrie says he’s WRONG!
Arena fight! Or at least a width-of-seat kerfluffle.
Sigh. Ok. mild disagreement then. But I am with Dan. A Quik Trip in an arena is an image of God’s grace.

Two good questions

August 28th, 2008

Carrie Rengers asks. The answer to the first is Quik Trip. Who will answer the second?
Then she points at a wreck so we will all gawk.

No?
Exactly the problem says Kevin Myles.
This is a post that not only poses a problem but also gives you actions you can take to help. Take a moment not only to read it but to act.

A 21st century message

August 28th, 2008

First, it is a blog post. Then, it’s a blog post about life as a Roomba-centric family. Can flying cars be far behind?

The moral dilemma of links

August 28th, 2008

If we wanted to drive up our page visits we would post pictures of the Wilson Triplets all the time. The cute quotient is off the scales. But that is not the way we roll here at Douglas and Main.

The love of God and partial differential equations

August 28th, 2008

A post that starts this way cannot be ignored:
As I sat in the classroom today – utterly confused as to why a just and loving God would allow 2nd-order partial differential equations to be casually used on my second day of class – I couldn’t help but wonder what exactly I’ve gotten myself into.

The new sensation sweeping the nation

August 28th, 2008

It’s Karaoke Convention ‘08. Where all the cool kids pick a recent political speech and karoke it, with the appropriate pauses for the original applause. Shannon says it’s hilarious.
I will have to wait for the classic’s version to do my famous “Checkers speech”. It’s a big hit at the staff Christmas party.

August 28th, 2008

Let us hope that someone with bluggier’s heart will be taking care of us.

I try to rein myself in but

August 27th, 2008

sometimes I just let go. I love sports. I try to avoid too many sports related posts here because there is so much bloggy goodness from so many directions.
Then Joanna asked about great running backs and I answered and I felt like you should have the chance to toss in your opinion as well.
You’re welcome.

It takes one to know one

August 27th, 2008

And I know a book-aholic when I see one. RedSwann aggravates all those looking for their next book bender by putting out a list of books she is reading for school this semester.
Must resist.

When YouTube is a good thing

August 27th, 2008

Some people curse YouTube. Douglas and Main is not (are not?) some people. We love it. We love it because it exposes us to people like Taylor Mali. Dejavavoom found one of our favorite clips and posts it to explain, partially, why he teaches.
Send this clip to every teacher you like.

Make sure there are no blog readers

August 27th, 2008

that are also pizza delivery drivers. Otherwise the Albert household may be waiting a long time for their extra-cold pizza.

Todd stops musing, starts wandering

August 27th, 2008

Todd wanders through the recent events in his life.
Alliterations. What would blogs or Sunday School handouts be without them?
Full disclosure: The editorial staff of Douglas and Main appears in one of the pictures in Todd’s blog. While it is an uncredited cameo Douglas believes it is important to be transparent. Main views this note as [...]

It’s not near as ominous as it sounds

August 27th, 2008

Final Friday. It could be a movie about the end of the world or a supernatural killer and teenage campers.
But it’s not. It’s about art and Old Town and a fine time being had by all.
Here is a link to a map from last month that should serve you well for this month.
Here is a [...]

Book Review: Suite Scarlett

August 27th, 2008

Book Nut enjoys many kinds of novels, including those aimed towards young adults. She really, really liked Suite Scarlett.
The best thing — aside from the laughs; I love it when an author actually gets me laughing out loud — was the characters. They’re so vividly drawn that you feel that you could sit in [...]

Existence regains meaning

August 27th, 2008

It’s time for football! College football. And yes ESPN brings the annoying cough*Lou Holtz*cough and the tedious cough*Mark May*cough but that’s why God gave us the mute button. Andrew Hammond finds the creeping influence of “the world wide leader” troubling.
