When I returned to Douglas and Main after another disappearance I promised, to myself, that I would get caught up on reading the blogs (my Google Reader stops counting at 1000+ and it was pegged there) and not go past the first of the year for blog posts. I lied.
I have a few links that [...]

Why read blogs?
October 31st, 2009
Erin posts a quote from Proust that applies to the practice of blogging and reading blogs.
A nice thought to usher in the return of Douglas and Main.
Have you heard the one about the stolen blog site?
September 11th, 2009
Shannonalbert.com isn’t really Shannon Albert’s blog anymore. It’s not just the address that has been hijacked but the content as well.
Sadly the Albert family has been rendered to Texas due to these tough economic times. We have chosen to continue listing and monitoring her real blog at Douglas and Main since she “works” in Wichita. [...]
A cry for help
August 25th, 2009
A local newspaper (not the Eagle) would like to know if there are any bloggers in the area that are older than 59. If you are 60 or older, and a blogger, please drop me a note by clicking on the word “suggest” in the upper right corner or sending an email to “douglas.and.main@gmail.com”.
Thanks.

July 16th, 2009
Whether you are a blogging powerhouse like BookNut or a small every-so-often blogger we all share certain truths in common. The remarkably clever Shannon has pegged a few of them.

Greensburg revisited
June 2nd, 2009
Wichita State University has sent a group of folks to Greensburg to tell the stories that haven’t been told yet. Here is the web page where all their work is collected. They have nineteen blogs and are posting video, audio and print stories. They are also on Twitter using #grrebirth.
Chandra is there too! And she [...]
People who get it, blogging about people who don’t get it
May 14th, 2009
Some good examples of Carrie Rengers’ blog-fu:
1. Let your commenters deal with the stupid things some people say
2. Gently allow others to reveal their own silliness
(Bragging, cleverly camoflauged as Transparency: I saw the video before it was taken down. Meh.)
3. Deal kindly with all those who love you but don’t love bloggers.
The “why” question
May 1st, 2009
When a blogger begins to question if it’s worth the hassle there is only one thing they can do. Post their thoughts and ask for comments.
When someone has a goal

you want to help them out. Don’t you? Linda has a number in mind she would like to reach and you can help.
Check on her mom while you’re there.

Why do we blog? Are we just in it for the Internet Millions™ or is there something more important at work? John B. has some interesting thoughts to chew on.
Karen, at Delano Wichita has some thoughts along the same lines.

I have multiple excuses for being absent. What are they? Heh. Sorry, the owner of Douglas and Main says to save it for my own blog.
The main thing is I am back, have many of your blogs to review and I am ready to share in this area’s blog ecosystem. I know who won the [...]
Blog’s who have voted in the caption contest so far
April 21st, 2009
Will this get them special treatment from the Douglas and Main staff? Of course not.
If your blog isn’t on the roll but you tell me about it, I will count your vote. Is this a lame attempt to draw out more blogs? Possibly.
Am I grateful for every blogger in Wichita? Absolutely.

One of many reasons
April 17th, 2009
This is why she blogs.
Not to get too philosophical but the wonderful thing about the Wichita area blogosphere is its rich variety. It is a smorgasboard of opinion, experience and expression. To Explain How I Got Here is an example of the many good bloggers in this area.
Katie’s Head is open for business
April 10th, 2009
Kinda. She makes no apologies for blogging on her own terms. It’s one of the reasons Douglas and Main is a big fan. That and she’s funny.

For those using Google Reader
