It’s not the singer (somewhere a lonely hound is stunned into silence) or the production values; it’s the harmonica player. Watch him valiantly struggle to play for the whole three minutes. At the two minute mark it looks like he’s waving for help.

The Israeli government has created their own YouTube channel to get their message out. Laura says they are not stopping there:

The IDF Foreign Press Branch has also delivered briefings to bloggers around the world, and staff members are preparing to start their own vodcasts — video diaries — to discuss their feelings about the conflict in English and Arabic. They rightly calculate that this personal approach will affect audiences very differently than traditional news coverage and pundit commentary.

Full disclosure: Douglas and Main has yet to be included in these briefings. We are not bitter or angry about this grieveous oversight. Yet.
